Managing Partner

As the Managing Partner of StoreGuard, Mike Vahle provides leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for all of the company’s acquisition, development, redevelopment, and disposition functions.

He brings over 16 years of real estate development and executive leadership experience to the role, along with a passion for improving the communities in which he works. His systematic approach to business includes building strong relationships and data-driven decision making.

Mike began his real estate career with RAMCO Developments, a small boutique firm that developed multiple asset classes while seeking the highest and best use for well-located real estate. In his subsequent position, he led a development team at Walmart that delivered over 60 new stores. Most recently, Mike was the regional VP of real estate development for Public Storage, where he led all development and redevelopment efforts in the southeastern U.S. All told, Mike has developed 14.3M square feet of property valued at $2.2B. Each of these roles, plus his prior military experience, helped to inform his vision for and choice to co-found StoreGuard.

After graduating from West Point, Mike spent five years on active duty in the U.S. Army as a Field Artillery officer. Renovating local schools during a deployment to Baghdad gave Mike his first taste of making meaningful physical improvements in a community, serving as an inspiration for his future career in real estate development.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from Tulane University. Veteran-oriented service organizations are meaningful to Mike, especially Fisher House Foundation and Wounded Warrior Project. He is also an active member of his church. Mike and family live in north Atlanta where they enjoy traveling and outdoor activities.
